Rotman European Trading Competition

RETC is a two and a half day invitational event that allows teams from schools across Europe to participate in a simulated market. Its structure is similar to the Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) held annually in Toronto, where 50 schools from around the world meet and compete in simulated markets.

The primary goal of the competition is to give students the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge to actual markets.

RETC provides a forum for students to interact with each other and learn from each others’ experiences and opinions.

RETC happened so far only in 2012 and 2016. In the second RETC that was hosted by LUISS Guido Carli University of Rome from August 25th to August 27th 2016, the IES team has won an great 3rd place. To find out more, read an interview with the winning team here.

The BCG Strategy Cup

Do you have what it takes to win? Then take the challenge and participate in the BCG Strategy Cup. You can use your curiosity and intellect to solve real-life business problems and learn how to develop strategies from a different perspective and win a prize of CZK 50,000.

CFA Institute Research Challenge hosted by the Czech CFA Society

The CFA Institute Research Challenge offers students the unique opportunity to learn from leading industry experts and compete with peers from the world’s top finance programs. This annual educational initiative promotes best practices in equity research among the next generation of analysts through hands-on mentoring and intensive training in company analysis and presentation skills. In 2016 a team of students from IES FSV UK won the 1st place in the national final of the CFA Research Challenge Competition and represented the Czech Republic at the Regional Level in Chicago. You can read an interview with the winning team here.

In 2018 a team of students from IES FSV UK won the 1st place in the national final of the CFA Research Challenge Competition and will represent the Czech Republic at the Regional Level in Dublin. You can read an interview with the winning team here.

Global Management Challenge

The Global Management Challenge is the largest Strategy and Management Competition in the world. It's the largest international event based on business simulations, with more than 450 000 university students and company managers participating in this event throughout the world.

This criterion is determined by the winning company in the market and winning the team competition. Each team is initially assigned to one company and the data characterizing its position in the market. Special computer software is developed by evaluating the consequences of advice (solutions) teams in marketing, manufacturing, human resources, logistics and finance, and the final balance (profit-loss) allocated to the company. Each team may participate in a minimum of 3 to 5 participants, who provide a coordinator.

In 2017 a team of students from the IES won the 1st place at the national round. 

Global Student Challenge

The Global Student Challenge, introduced by the Cool Connection, is an international student competition, where students run their own virtual competition. This Challenge aims at identifying the best student talents and connecting them to the corporate sector. By means of an internship they have also a chance to kick start their career at some of the world’s leading companies.

The Challenge is based on The Cool Connection, a simulation specifically designed around the physical and financial supply chain. The Cool Connection is an innovative web-based business simulation. It engages participants in making strategic decisions in the management of a manufacturing company of personal care products. The Challenge engages participants to consider corporate strategy and business objectives and to manage cross-functional trade-offs in the value chain. The participants will be confronted with various real-life, real-time dilemmas. Cross-functional understanding and collaboration are key components, as teams work together to turn their company around.

In the year 2016/17 and 2017/18 a team of IES students won the National Round and continued to represent the Czech Republic at the Global Final.

Peak Time is the largest international business student competition in Eastern Europe. Apply individually or as a team of 4 undergraduates on . Run your own virtual business prepared by CESIM and compete for a larger market share! Be the best in CESIM and continue the game in online case study prepared by business professionals;  Be among the top 20 teams and come to the four-day Grand Final to challenge your knowledge with advanced real business case studies, held in Riga, Latvia in May; Registration for competition is usually in February.

FRESHHH

Freshhh is an online gamified international competition. Students in teams of three members have to build up a new oil company from scratch and make decisions on research and development projects. They will also have to build a refinery for different products and find the best product portfolio to gain profit. The best 5 teams are possible joiners to MOL Group’s unique graduate programme, Growww.
