Doc. Antonie Doležalová (firstname.lastname@example.org) is looking for a research assistant. The research assistant will support research in the field of economic history focused on tax policies, multinationals and tax havens as well as with organisation of the Business History seminar.
Petr Janský (email@example.com) is looking for a capable research assistant (must be at least a master’s student) for collecting and analysing the country-by-country reports voluntarily published by multinational corporations. The research assistant will help with answering the question how much and where individual multinational corporations (MNCs) really pay in taxes. It is currently impossible to observe this information, unless MNCs voluntarily publish this information. An increasing number of MNCs do this with their country-by-country reports. The task of the research assistant will be to collect them in a new data set, analyse it and draft the results. We expect to find a lot of variance in the worldwide as well as country-level effective tax rates (ETRs) these MNCs pay and to identify a varying share of their profit being reported in tax havens.
