Evaluating Economic Policy Using the Synthetic Control Method
Disertation abstract:
The main focus of the project is to apply SCM on various economic policy intervention, starting with Czech Nation Bank exchange rate commitment from the year 2013, impact of agricultural subsidies on the farm production (the intervention year is 2004 when the Czech Republic joined the European Union), and impact of Brexit voting on British financial markets. This project will examine the way of implementing the confidence interval as one of the robustness check of the SCM.
