Graduated in 1978 at the Faculty of Math. and Physics, Charles University, Prague
Ph.D. received in 1983 at Charles University with dissertation devoted to Combinatohrial Optimization.
Economical education received in World Bank and IMF courses, during stay at Princeton University, during activities at CERGE UK, and during other study stays and activities.
Job history
1978-1992 Department of Operations Research and Computer Science of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University.
1992-1998 Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education (CERGE UK) and the Economic Institute (EI) of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
During 1993-1995 Director for Graduate Studies at CERGE.
Starting from 1998 - Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, Prague.
From 2001 till 2004 responsible for PhD study at the IES.
From 2004 the Prague School of Economics (and PhD study ==> prof. Turnovec).

Taught many courses ( Basic, Bc-level, MBA, and Ph.D.-level ) for the World Bank and IMF, for the Czech Management Center (CMC) in Celakovice, Academia Istropolitana Nova in Bratislava, ITM Prague, and Joint Vienna Institute in Vienna.
Consultant for the EDI section of the World Bank. Coordinator and Partner in ACE Phare Grants. Participated in other grants as well.
