We congratulate Julie Chytilová for becoming the second laureate of Kateřina Šmídková Award. The award is given by the Czech Economics Society to commemorate a leading Czech economist, Professor Kateřina Šmídková, a longstanding member of the Board of the Czech Economics Society, Professor of Economics at Charles University and Director of Economic Research Department at the Czech National Bank.
The purpose of the award is to support a Czech female economist with high quality research and support her continuing professional development. The award is funded by money donated by Kateřina Šmídková. Congratulations!

Kateřina Šmídková, a longstanding professor of economics at IES FSV UK, member of the Board of Czech Economic Society (CSE), and director of the Economic Research Department of the Czech National Bank was given in memoriam the VIA BONA Award for Philanthropy 2015. The award reflects her generous donation to the CSE to support the Czech female economists (via a recently established Kateřina Šmídková Award).
