Výzkumný záměr IES (1999-2004) "Česká ekonomika v kontextu evropské integrace a globalizace"
|
Abstrakt: |
Paper explores development of public finances in the Czech Republic, including official public budgets and so-called contingent liabilities. It seeks to compare Czech public sector with likes in other OECD countries and finds that although the Czechs have limited excessive public sector inherited from the eighties, they have stopped short of trimming the public sector to the size corresponding to the Czech Republic's economic development. The paper also finds that although there have been a huge difference in "fiscal rhetoric" of Czech political parties, the actual fiscal policy has changed very little since the new government has been functional. |
