Bachelor thesis „Arguments of Karel Engliš and czech keynesian economists about the character and solutions to crises of the thirties“ deals with divergent view of front czech economists from the beginning ot the thirties about the current economic crisis. There is mentioned summary of the czech economic thought and I describe especially the view of Karel Engliš and Josef Macek. Karel Engliš had very carefully formulated theory about the crisis, we can say he was a monetarist. He originated his own teological theory, which he promoted into the practice of economic policy and from this point of view he looked on the crisis. Josef Macek and the other keynesian economists preferred government´s intervention and active monetary policy of the central bank. They did not agree with implementation of gold standard, however they did not want to solve the crisis by devalvation as Karel Engliš did. |
