Abstract: In the bachelor thesis the stock markets in the Czech Republic and in the Netherlands are compared. The author is trying to search for factors behind the significant differences in market capitalization, transaction costs and liquidity.
Movements in stock prices are an important profit-making factor for investors and speculants. It is immposibble to earn abnormal profits on efficient markets. Are the Czech and Dutch market efficient or are the returns predictable? Can we find any patterns in stock prices movements to reject the efficiency?
