The present bachelor thesis surveys, evaluates and compares Czechoslovak monetary reforms: 1919, 1945 and 1953. The reform of the year 1919 establishing an independent Czechoslovak currency in the newly arisen Czechoslovak Republic. Furthermore the reform of the year 1945 reviving Czechoslovak "koruna" after war disruption and finally the communist reform of the year 1953. It discusses each monetary reform in four different ways: economical and political background, philosophy of the reform, own realization of the reform and its incidences. It also compares all forementioned reforms against each other within these dimensions. |
