Abstract: The final thesis The Prague Stock Exchange and the Nature of Its Trading Operations until 1938 deals with the origin, operation and economic importance of the exchange since 1871 when it was established until 1938 when it was permanently closed due to the wartime occupation of Czechoslovakia. First, the thesis describes its structure, control bodies, rules and manner of functioning and financial instruments and types of trading operations commonly used. Further, it describes and evaluates the historical development of the Prague Stock Exchange and its overall importance for the economic system, which is shown on specific statistic data from the given time period.
