Abstract: | This paper describes the evolution of economic thought upon the religious and philosophical systems of the antiquity and the middle ages. The emphasis is placed on economic and ethical questions important for Old Testament Hebrews, Greek philosophy, the beginnings of Christianity and the Scholastics of the middle ages. Through a rather methodological view it describes the concepts of good and evil and of the operation of social order, which became the cornerstone of social sciences. |
