Abstract: Bachelor thesis on Foreign trade of the Slovak Republic in 1993-2004 is trying to offer an extensive and intricate idea about the development of Slovak external trade in the given period. In the beginning, it copes with the main determinants of Slovak foreign trade, regarding both economic theory and the specific features of the Slovak economy. It then continues with description of the development of Slovak external trade focusing on looking for the reasons for this development. For better illustration and understanding, the analysis of the overall development is accompanied by an overview of commodity and territorial structure of Slovak external trade and a comparison with the external trade of the Czech Republic. In the end, author expresses his own opinion about this development in the given period and presents an outlook for the future.
