Thesis Economic and Monetary Union depicts a developement of an integration in monetary area in Europe from the very beginning to the present form of European Economic and Monetary and Union. First two chapters provide a view of historical developement of monetary cooperation from the post war period to year 1999, when Economic and Monetary Union was definitively estabilished. Realisation of the union is analysed in the third chapter. The stress is putted especially on the system of convergence criteria and their fulfilling. Next chapters give answers to the questions connected with single currency and institutions of Economic and Monetary Union. Sixth chapter focuses on positive and negative impacts of monetary union, resumes macroeconomic developement from the year 1999 and at last but not at least shows attitude of people to the new currency. Final part of the thesis focuses on the Czech Republic, its position in the European Union and preparation to adoption single European currency. |
