| Abstract: | This thesis deals with currency board arrangement both theoretically and practically. The first part of the thesis is devoted to theoretical description of a typical currency board with its operational framework and a key advantages and disadvantages of this monetary arrangement. The second part deals with particular application of currency board arrangement in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It offers short introduction to economic and political situation in the country and analyses performance of currency board in the last decade. Conclusions from the theoretical part are applied in the particular case of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to determine whether a currency board arrangement was an optimal choice for a country. |
