|Abstract:||In bachelor thesis I deal with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) conception. In the first part I summarize important events of the CSR history and I focus on theoretical definition of the topic, evolution of CSR in the USA from 1950´s and its connection with further economic theories.
In the second part I comment an amount of empirical researches on the corporate social performance–financial performance link.
The third part is devoted to the critics of CSR conception and related problems.
In the final part I apply microeconomic approach to consider conditions and assumptions of economic motivation for the implementation of socially responsible behavior into market strategy of a firm. I examine the influence of various market structures on particular CSR–behavior and I develop original models to manage this issue. I argue, that socially responsible behavior is rational under particular assumtions and thus it can be considered as an interesting competitive tool. The most important result of this thesis is „duopoly paradox“, that is connected with the costs–competition among duopolists. In this situation monopoly works more efficiently than duopoly on particular market. This result is beside standard microeconomic theory.
The conclusion is devoted to the several thoughts about contemporary CSR and its future in the Czech Republic and about the effect of globalization on the CSR in the world wide economy.
