Communication in Multiobject Auctions: Experimental Studies of Collusion Behaviour

Principal investigator: Mgr. Jindřich Matoušek Ph.D.
Collaborators: Mgr. Kateřina Chadimová
prof. PhDr. Tomáš Havránek Ph.D.
Václav Korbel Ph.D.
Description: Multi-unit auction mechanisms are among the most important instruments used for the allocation of spectrum licenses, airport time slots or delivery routes. In our research we will experimentally examine the attributes of complex multi-unit auction mechanisms under various modifications of communication among participants. Building on our previous research that has already proven that allowing for communication increases efficiency in specific auction settings, we will further use design and methodology alterations that will strengthen and enhance understanding of agents behavior in multiobject auctions with collusive properties. We will make structural changes to communication of participants and character of the communication channels.
