| Abstract: |
Since 1993, when the author was elected as the director of the Institute of Economic Studies (IES), his 1993 IES vision has been redrafted and updated several times. The vision core - to establish modern European, competitive education and research center was retained. The accent on abstract logical thinking supported by development of instrumental math skills is one of features that distinguish IES from the other economic schools. The profile of IES graduate is based not upon managerial skills and knowledge but upon the willingness of abstract thinking and deep problem solving (in interdisciplinary manner). It is flexible response to the expected needs of labor market that evaluates the IES graduates with eagerness and excess demand. |
