The thesis is particularly focused on economic impacts of the privatization of hospitals in the Czech Republic. Firstly, the basic economic theories connected to health care system are discussed and a reader is acquainted with the actual status of Czech health care system. Secondly, the basic economic characteristics of Czech hospitals are given and we show some possibilities of increasing economic efficiency in the hospital business. Then the pros and cons of financial management system of private hospitals are mentioned. Finally, the statistic and econometric analysis of data from 2006 annual reports of selected hospitals is done. We proved that the profit of public hospitals is greater than the profit of private ones. Difference in the structure of the hospitals’ revenues was not proven. According to the demographic tasks and progress in health care industry, crucial changes are necessary. |
