Abstract: |
This thesis is discussing the employment of older workers in connection with the legal and financial incentives embedded in the social security systems. The main analysis is focused on the development of the employment rate of older workers aged 55-64 since the early 1990´s and on the change in the average exit age from labour force in the same period. The thesis gives also characteristics of the institutional framework of the social security system and identifies the changes that have had the major effect on the motivation of older workers to remain active at the labour market. Using the example of the Czech Republic and the Netherlands it is shown that there are links between changes in the set of financial provision and eligibility criteria of the early retirement schemes an the employment rate of persons near the retirement age. |
