Abstract: |
The aim of this work was to shed the lights on the current state-of-the-art on economic valuation of externalities of wind energy with respect to the planned wind energy development in the Czech Republic. The understanding of economic phenomenon of externality together with a brief description of non-market valuation methods is presented in the work. Further, the main impacts of wind energy are identified and described, afterwards the studies valuating these impacts were looked for. The found studies show that the impact on aesthetic value of landscape and impact of noise can be labeled as dominant. The rest of impacts are valued only seldom. The results of studies show that the mentioned impacts have a negative effect on the utility of individual so that the future development of wind power is inevitably linked with additional external social costs. Another particular goal was to determine whether the results of studies are relevant to the Czech Republic. With respect to the different methodological background of examined studies the transferability of results is rejected, simultaneusly the priority areas for future research in the fields of externalities of wind energy were identified.
