The thesis analyzes and describes development stages of insurance industry on the Slovak Republic territory, as an important sector of economy. It starts with a brief summary of historical period, nationalization of insurance offices and the period of monopoly and stopped growth. In the following part it focuses on results of transition from central planned economy, which ment modernization and following the bests likewise in this sector. It also deals with incorporation of Slovak insurance system into the european structures, legislative harmonization and in the last part are mentioned industry new perspectives. Slovak insurance industry accounts in present time permanent growth and despite that insurance market penetration is still behind the EU level, it increases continuously. |
