Abstract: | This thesis focuses itself on the up-to-now controversial part of the czech coupon privatization phenomenon - which are investment privatization funds. Author tries to set this issue into its historical circumstances, to discribe precisely its evolution and to use international comparison where it is possible. In the first chapters, there is described the initial state of the central european transitive economies and there are also introduced various models of privatization funds which were used in the privatization strategies of many former Eastern block countries. In the other parts of the thesis, there is characterized the process of formation of czech privatization funds and their development in time up to present days. Darker sides connected with this part of privatization are also mentioned. A special emphasis is given on the wide rendering of changes in the amount of property in funds during the last decade of 20th century and on the present form of the biggest funds established in the times of czech coupon privatization. Final chapters assess the overall contribution of czech privatization funds accordind to how they fulfiled the intentions of the privatization strategy creators. Author of this thesis even made a survey in a small sample of economists who occupy themselves with the issues of privatization funds and their present opinions are cited as a bonus on the last pages of this work. |
