Abstract: This thesis analyses the effect of urbanization, secondary education, employment
in agriculture and GDP on income inequality in developing countries
in context of the Sustainable Development Goals programme. A panel data
analysis on unbalanced panel of 99 countries in time period 1991 - 2017 is
performed. Significant negative effect of education on income inequality has
been found in the whole time period and the effect of employment in agriculture
changed from positive to negative during the time period, suggesting
that action directed at helping farmers in developing countries may deliver
desirable effects.
