This paper describes Turkish economic development since the begining of the republic until the latest financial crisis in 2001. Including the political development and international relations this paper draws it´s main etaps and crisis. First chapter summarizes the begining of the republic which was connected with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk´s reforms. Impact of these reforms has been visible for a long time. High attention is also given to stabilisation program of 1980, which brought liberalization to Turkish economic and political life |
