Abstract: This thesis tries to analyze impacts of FDI on the host country ´s exchange rate. For this reason we discuss partial effects of FDI on the exchange rate, which repeal not only with the entrance of FDI to the host country but also with other subsequent impacts of the investment in the particular state. This thesis also shows, that FDI could be reason for both appreciation and depreciation of the exchange rate, and the overall effect is necessary assess for a specific country or group of countries. For group of transitive countries this paper verifies hypothesis of the financial life cycle of FDI and illustrates possible depreciation of the exchange rate of the host country as the effect of the future repatriation of the profits
